A blast from the past...

These are a few of the first cake I ever made when I was taking my first class. Not to shabby if you ask me:)

Christmas Candy

Homemade Peppermint Bark, and Chocolate peanut and marshmallow clusters. Lots of fun to make and even more fun to eat!

Essentials of Baking

Today a book I ordered from William-Sonoma has arrived. I am so excited. I have said it before and I will say it again. When it comes to baking, decor is only half the battle. Of course I enjoy making cakes for special occasions and decorating them but I also want to offer several different options such as fillings, sauces, toppings etc. I also want to master sugar art, working with chocolate, and custards and souffles, and tarts, pie, and pastries. This book will work as a stepping stone along with the classes I am taking to help me serve you better in every area in baking. Besides I love William-Sonoma:)

Happy New Year

Well everyone sorry I have been away for a little while. I was very busy over the holiday filling orders. I had a lot of fun doing it. I had a wonderful Christmas with my family and I am on vacation so I am getting to spend some very much needed family time with my husband and my daughters. I am sad to see Christmas leave. I am not really big on New Years but this year I will make it good. I am really going to put forth a huge effort to take my business to the next level. I have called it Tamara's Endless Edibles for a reason. I have been doing lots a bake goods and will continue too but I also am going to start doing equal amounts of savory dishes as well. I know with hard work, disipline and submission to my all might Lord I can do this. I am ready for it and I have all the family support in the world and I think they are just as ready for this ride as I am. I am registered to take the advanced cake decor class at Pima. Although decor is extremely important for presentation it is only have the battle. I know that I am a terrific baker and cook but everyone can always learn more. Thats why I am going to take a baking class as well. My dad and husband would love it if I took the whole culinary program and became a pastry chef which has been laying heavy on my mind. Hard work? Yes. Worth the pay off? Yes. But isn't that what this thing called life is all about? Hard work and of course unconditional love. I have a little suprise. I am not going to count my chickens before they hatch but there is a really good chance that some of my baked goods will soon be sold in one of the finest local eating establishments in Tucson. I have been doing some negotiations and I have faith that it will be. I will let you know when this happens. Oh what a great beginning this is! Thanks again for your love and support! From the Heart!:)

Something Sweet!

My family and I went to San Diego this past weekend and had a blast! We did not eat anything sweet from Thursday to Saturday and believe me we all have a sweet tooth. So that next day I came up with an idea to make a Cranberry 7 Up bundt cake with cream cheese frosting topped with walnuts. Very satisfying.

Birthday Cake

This is a Birthday cake that was ordered this last week. Not colors that I would have chose but when a customer ask you give them what they want. Glad they enjoyed it.

Christmas Flyer

Congratulations again to my friend Felicia on her soon to be arrival of her new baby boy Ja'Siel! I am glad you enjoyed the cake.

Finally

Well after sometime I am finally able to display just a few things made over the Thanksgiving break. My husband is always looking for something sweet so I baked him and the girls up some peanut butter cookies and chocolate chunk peanut butter cookies. I also made the apple pie for a customer along with a sweet potatoe bread. I was a baking fool. I made several pies from apple to pumpkin, and sweet potato and many breads but I loved every minute of it.

For my hubby

So my husband Kyle who loves just about everything I make :) has been asking for me to make his favorite, (lemon cake). So I decided to put a twist on it from the ordinary lemon cake fully iced with lemon butter cream. Tonight I made him from scratch mind you a Lemon Pecan Bundt Poundcake with lemon glaze topped with more pecans. I had a piece and it is so delicious! He does not know I made this cake yet so when he gets home from work and he sees this he is going to love and adore me even more! I truly love making others happy with my baking and cooking. Ladies if you don't know how to cook or bake I suggest you learn. It is not the only way but one of the biggest ways to a mans heart is through his stomach. However if cooking and baking is just not your thing then you can always call me and you can order whatever is it you want to put a smile on someone face or maybe your own :) I had originally planned on making a Banana Coconut Pound Cake to appease my own taste budds but the pay off of Kyles smile, and his tender hug and forhead kiss will be much better.

Lets talk a bit

So as you know I am in the making of starting up a business "Tamara's Endless Edibles". I have been wanting to do this for about five years now but I just kept putting it off. I believe I was scared of being overwhelmed. Then I just decided to get off my toosh and do it. I have a concept that there are three kinds of people in the world. Doers, Sayers, and Nayers. The Doers are the people who say talk about doing something and actually do it. Sayers are the people who talk about doing something and never do it (all talk), and Nayers are the people who don't talk about doing anything and they don't do anything. Well I am a born again Doer. I talk about creating this business and I am doing it. I am so very excited that my pies and breads will on the serving table of many friends, and co-workers Thanksgiving Day. I can't express my thanks for your support. I was talking with my dad and husband (two of my biggest supporters and tatse tester) the other day and my goal is to one day open a Bakery/Cafe & Catering Co. I know with hardwork, and the support of my family, and most of all prayer, and the power of my sweet Lord Jesus it WILL happen. For now I am contnent baking, and cooking for family and friends, and I am happily building up a client base. I spoke of being overwhelmed earlier, but you know what? I am happy when I am in the kitchen. I cook and bake from the heart. One of the reason this is also so important to me is because my father is diabetic. I love creating sugar free dishes and baked item for him. He will always beable to enjoys cakes and pies and other yummy treats as long as I am around. This is my passion! If you don't know what your passion is I whole heartedly sugggest you find what it is. You will be so happy you did. Thanks for letting me into your world and for you taking a look into mine.

So Generous

My wonerful hubby has being a lttle generous over the past week, buying me all these new bakeware items to add to my already HUGE collection. However when you bake and cook one can NEVER have enough. I can't wait to put all this stuff to use for the holidays. My parents, daughters, and I took a trip to Williams-Sonoma today. I absolutley love that store! I believe my husband and I will take a trip out there tomorrow since he has never been there, and I will see just how generous he is REALLY feeling:) I am thankful to have the kind of husband that don't mind keeping me lavished with cookware and bakeware. Probably because he gets to reap the benefits of all the yuumy things that come from them.  Some girls like diamonds and well then there is me. I will take Williams-Sonoma over Tiffanys any day. Some call it crazy but I call it a true passion for cooking and baking!
